War or peace?

Had Alfred Nobel not read his own obituary, mistakenly published in place of his brother’s, we would have remembered him very differently: “The merchant of death is dead,” thundered one French paper, "Nobel became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before". And so, a few swift life adjustments later, instead he remains almost exclusively associated with peace, high-achievement and philanthropy.
